Merger of DS Pharma Biomedical and DS Pharma Promo

Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka-shi, Osaka, Japan; Representative Director, President and CEO: Hiroshi Nomura) and its wholly owned subsidiaries, DS Pharma Biomedical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Suita-shi, Osaka, Japan; Representative Director, President: Susumu Nakajima) and DS Pharma Promo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Suita-shi, Osaka, Japan; Representative Director, President: Susumu Nakajima), today announced a decision that DS Pharma Biomedical will absorb and merge with DS Pharma Promo under the name of "DS Pharma Promo Co., Ltd," with effect from April 1, 2019.

DS Pharma Biomedical manufactures and sells authorized generic (AG) products, and has been entrusting Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma and DS Pharma Promo to collaboratively provide information on AG products. The decision that DS Pharma Biomedical will absorb and merge with DS Pharma Promo is aimed at achieving more efficient operation of AG business. As of April 1, 2019, the reorganized joint company will play the leading role in the AG business of Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Group and will provide information on AG products in collaboration with Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma.
