Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Contributes to Earthquake Relief Efforts in Japan

Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President: Masayo Tada; hereinafter called "DSP") expresses its deepest sympathy for victims of the earthquake that struck the Tohoku region in Japan on March 11 2011, and our thoughts are with those personally affected by the tragedy.

DSP announced today that the Company will make a donation of JPY 100 million through the Japanese Red Cross to aid relief efforts for victims of the earthquake.

In addition to the cash donation, DSP is planning as much additional support as possible including the donation of pharmaceutical products.

DSP GOKYO FOOD & CHEMICAL Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President: Tetsuya Oida) and DS Pharma Animal Health Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President: Satoshi Ijuin), both subsidiaries of DSP, will also make a donation of 10 million and 5 million, respectively.
