Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Group Contributes to Earthquake Relief Efforts in Japan (Part 2)

Earthquake Disaster Reconstruction Support Office (tentative name) planned

Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President: Masayo Tada; hereinafter called "DSP") expresses its deepest sympathy for victims of the earthquake that struck the Tohoku region in Japan on March 11 2011, and our thoughts are with those personally affected by the tragedy.

To support the reconstruction of the area affected by the earthquake, DSP is planning to establish an Earthquake Disaster Reconstruction Support Office (tentative name) on May 1, 2011. DSP announces that on April 1, Corporate Communications will create a preparation team.

The new establishment of the Earthquake Disaster Reconstruction Support Office (tentative name) aims to understand the needs of the area affected by the earthquake, and promote all support activities necessary including volunteer activities by employees, donations, support materials,, support to local government and NGOs, etc.

As announced on March 17, contributions from the DSP Group, include support activities such as monetary contributions, voluntary cash donations by employees, providing medicine, etc. Additionally, a UK subsidiary, Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Europe Ltd. has begun donation activities and DS Pharma Biomedical Co.,Ltd. is donating Acute myocardial infarction drug test kits through the Japan Association of Clinical Reagents Industries. Furthermore, DS Pharma Animal Health Co., Ltd. is contributing JPY 5 Million to the Monetary Donation for "Tohoku Higashi-Kanto Great Earthquake and Tsunami" Animal Rescue Activities by the Japan Veterinary Medical Association and donating veterinary drugs through the Japan Veterinary Products Association.

Each company in the DSP group plans to provide earthquake support in any way possible.
