【Illuminate in blue on World Diabetes Day; A public lecture was held】

World Diabetes Day(WDD) became an official United Nations Day in 2006 in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes.
(It is marked every year on 14 November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin.)
WDD has a blue circle logo as the universal symbol, consisting of blue, which reflects the color of the sky and the flag of the United Nations, and a circle, which symbolizes unity, and aims to raise awareness among citizens worldwide about the importance of prevention and continuous treatment of diabetes. Additionally, a global campaign encourages participation in illuminating symbolic monuments and landmarks in blue to highlight diabetes awareness.
Sumitomo Pharma participated in this initiative by illuminating a section of the first-floor lobby in blue from November 1 to 20 at its Osaka Head Office, and by providing an online public lecture under the theme of the continuous treatment of workers with diabetes on November 11 to promote awareness.

WDD served as an opportunity for each of us to thoroughly consider what we should do and what we can contribute to realizing our company's Value, "Patient First," which embodies the aspiration of "for the betterment of healthcare and fuller lives of people worldwide."
