【Sumitomo Pharma Co-hosts the Workshop on Child and Adolescent and Adolescent Mental Health (for teachers) with the Osaka Prefectural Office of Education 】

On July 24, 2023, at Mydome Osaka, Sumitomo Pharma co-hosted with the Osaka Prefectural Office of Education "the Workshop on Mental Health and Mental Illness — Learning Prevention of and Recovery from Mental Illness" for teachers at elementary, junior high, high schools and special needs schools in Osaka Prefecture. At this workshop,  Dr. Saori Sakaue, chief medical officer of the Child and Adolescent Care Department, Osaka Psychiatric Medical Center, gave a lecture on the characteristics of mental illness, collaborations with external institutions, and specific case examples.

Child and adolescent health issues have become more complex in recent years due to changes in the social environment. Especially with regard to mental health, it is very important to create an environment where and adolescent and those around them have a correct understanding of mental illness so that they can recognize early signs of mental and physical problems and, if necessary, can consult with specialists and receive treatment. Our company hopes that this lecture will contribute to the further enhancement of mental health literacy.
