FTSE4Good Index Series
The FTSE4Good Index Series is created by the global index provider FTSE Russell (U.K.) to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. Sumitomo Pharma has been recognized as meeting the criteria and is included as a constituent in the index.
FTSE Russell (the trading name of FTSE International Limited and Frank Russell Company) confirms that Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd.has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Created by the global index provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE4Good indices are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.
FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index*
The FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index is created by the global index provider FTSE Russell (U.K.) to measure the performance of Japanese companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. Sumitomo Pharma has been continuously included as a constituent in the Index since 2017 when the Index was launched.
FTSE Russell confirms that Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. has been independently assessed according to the index criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index. Created by the global index and data provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating specific Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index is used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.
FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index*
The FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, like the FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index, is created by the global index provider FTSE Russell (U.K.). The FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is composed of Japanese companies that demonstrate strong ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices relative to their industry peers. It is designed to reflect companies’ ESG initiatives while minimizing sector bias by evaluating performance on a sector-relative basis. Sumitomo Pharma has been continuously included as a constituent in the Index since 2022 when the Index was launched.

MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index*
Among the stocks that make up the MSCI Nihonkabu IMI Index, the MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index aims to represent the performance of companies that are leading within their GICS® sector groups in terms of ESG evaluations while also meeting certain quality factor criteria. Sumitomo Pharma has been included as a constituent in the index since 2024 when the Index was launched.

S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index*
The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index is an ESG index jointly designed by S&P Dow Jones Indices and Japan Exchange Group. This index comprises companies included in the Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX), and the weight of constituent is determined by carbon efficiency (Carbon emissions per unit of revenue) and the disclosure status of environmental information. Sumitomo Pharma has been included as a constituent in the Index since 2018 when the Index was launched.
Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index*
Built with the data and scoring methodology of Equileap (Netherlands), the Morningstar (U.S.) Gender Diversity Indexes are designed to emphasize the stocks of companies that have strong gender diversity policies embedded in their corporate culture and that ensure equal opportunities to employees, irrespective of their gender. This index was newly adopted by GPIF from March 2023. Sumitomo Pharma has been included in the constituent stocks since its establishment in 2023.
SOMPO Sustainability Index
"Sompo Sustainability Index" is an active index composed of approximately 300 stocks with superior ESG evaluations. It is constructed by integrating stock selection based on ESG evaluations by Sompo Risk Management with stock valuation by Sompo Asset Management. A long-term investment strategy that tracks this index has been adopted by institutional investors, including pension funds.
Sumitomo Pharma has been continuously included as a constituent in the Index since 2012
when the Index was launched.

Other Evaluations
CDP (Climate change)
CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions. Sumitomo Pharma has been selected by CDP as the highest A-List company for two consecutive years in the category of “climate change” in CDP 2025, in recognition of its efforts and measures against climate change.
CDP (Supplier Engagement Assessment)
CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions. CDP’s annual Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) – formerly known as CDP's Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) – evaluates corporate supply chain engagement on climate issues. In 2025, Sumitomo Pharma was selected for the first time as the highest rating of “Supplier Engagement Assessment leader”.
Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations Recognition Program for the large enterprise category (White 500)
The Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations Recognition Program is a certification program operated by the Japan Health Council for organizations that excel in health and productivity management. Among certified large enterprises, the top 500 organizations are designated as “White 500” based on the results of the Health and Productivity Management Survey.
Sumitomo Pharma has maintained “White 500” certification continuously since 2017.
Platinum Kurumin
Under the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children, companies that meet specified criteria are certified by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare as “Childcare Support Companies” (Kurumin Certification). Companies that demonstrate outstanding initiatives and meet higher standards are eligible for the special “Platinum Kurumin” certification.
Sumitomo Pharma has maintained Platinum Kurumin certification continuously since 2017.
Eruboshi Certification
Companies that actively promote women's participation and advancement in the workplace based on a General Employer Action Plan, as required under the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace, may receive certification from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Since 2017, Sumitomo Pharma has been continuously receiving the highest rating of "Eruboshi" (L Star: L stands for Lady, Labour and Lead) certification (three stars) as a company making excellent progress in implementing initiatives for the active involvement of female employees.
Resilience Certification
The National Resilience Contribution Organization Certification (Resilience Certification) is a certification program administered by the Resilience Japan Promotion Council based on the Guidelines for the Certification of National Resilience Contribution Organizations, established by the Secretariat for National Resilience Promotion of the Cabinet Secretariat in February 2016. The program recognizes companies and other organizations that proactively implement business continuity initiatives. Since 2024, Sumitomo Pharma has continuously maintained certification in the category of Business Continuity and Social Contribution.
